If you haven't decided to join the union, and are questioning why you should, think of how you are treated at work.

• Do you take vacations?
• Are they granted based on your seniority?
• What happens if you are hurt at home?
• Do you have insurance that pays you, for up to 365 days a year?

As a member of the Union, you get those vacations because of Union action; as a Union member, you are automatically covered under an Accident Benefit plan.

Those are just a couple of things that benefit you, or would benefit you, thanks to the Union and being a member. Perhaps you do not like your shop steward, or Area Representative, or you think the Union doesn't do enough, or the Union simply helps the troublemakers or bad employees. Unless you are a Union member, then you do not have a voice. What's the best way to make changes? Getting involved. You can only do this by becoming a Union member.
